Gail Smith, our Junior Consultant who first joined us as an intern, has won the very prestigious Nelson Mandela Scholarship to study an MA in the Global Political Economy. She is applying to study at the University of Sussex. We are VERY proud of her.
*** WE ARE WORKING ON EXCITING PROJECTS ***
In South Africa, we are doing:
- an evaluation of a HIV / AIDS Community Mobilisation Programme.
- applied research for the National Skills Fund, Department of Labour and the European Union, identifying best practice organisations in Skills Development in South Africa
- an evaluation of a Victim Empowerment Project.
In Puerto Rico we are:
- completing a pilot project to build a model of conflict resolution in schools
- creating conflict resolution and management models in poor communities
- launching a web site on the 3rd sector, to help NGO's access development funding.
As Southern Hemisphere is a values based organisation, we are very pleased to be doing work on such amazing projects which are making real positive impacts on people's lives.
With every bit of work we do, we are making strides towards attaining our vision of social justice for all.
