Quote from Past Participant:
“Thank you very much for the very thought-provoking and interesting training.
I truly enjoyed the course”.

‘WHY DID THE CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD?'
The simple answer is that it wanted to get to the other side. But what would the evaluator want to know? To get the answer to this M&E question, find out more about our training courses on our
website...

PLANNING, MONITORING & EVALUATION

The PM&E field is becoming more professionalised and sophisticated. We find that our Clients are ready to
move beyond a basic understanding of key concepts in monitoring and evaluation and how to develop an
M&E plan, and are grappling with how to implement monitoring and evaluation systems and use monitoring
data. For this reason we introduced the advanced course in “Developing and Operationalising a Monitoring
and Evaluation System.” This course grew out of a one-day professional development workshop run by Nana Davies, that was offered at the SAMEA conference in 2008, which was extremely well attended. It is now a 2.5 day course which we held successfully three times last year. This is part of our endeavour to keep abreast with and ahead of our Clients’ needs, so we can build capacity to both implement PM&E directly and to engage with consultants in an informed manner.

We have also noted an Increased interest in in-house training requests, and are adding a mentoring component should clients request it. Our courses are attracting participants from around the continent and around the globe, with participants from afar a field as Ethiopia, Ruwanda and Vietnam. This year we will also be offering a PM&E course in Denmark from the 7 – 11 June 2010.
