Melisa Dlamini

Melisa holds a BA in Clinical Psychology and Anthropology from the University of the Witwatersrand. She further pursued her studies at the University of the Western Cape where she completed her Honours (Cum Laude) in Development Studies. Melisa had the pleasure to continue with her studies in Germany where she completed her MA in Development Management at Ruhr Univesitat in Bochum, courtesy of the DAAD scholarship. Her MA thesis focused on assessing the role that breastfeeding campaigns play in promoting the breastfeeding culture in South Africa. Melisa recently completed her MA in Development Studies at the University of the Western Cape, and her thesis was based on examining breastfeeding rates in rural and urban South Africa. She is currently working as an intern at Southern Hemisphere, where she is actively involved in applied research, monitoring and evaluation, planning and project coordination. Melisa is passionate about social development, rural development, women empowerment as well as participatory development, and is looking forward to feeding her passion through her tenure at Southern Hemisphere.
